Bengaluru: Engineeringg student dies in accident on birthday
The police said that he was not only speeding but was also holding his helmet in his hand and suffered severe head injuries.
Bengaluru: A 21-year-old engineering student, who was returning to his paying guest accommodation after celebrating his birthday, died on the spot after he lost control of his bike and skidded on Uttarahalli Main Road in Kengeri on Sunday evening.
The deceased, Shivam Kumar Choudhary, hailed from Jharkhand and was studying third year engineering at RNSIT College.
Shivam had gone out with his friends to celebrate his birthday and was returning to his paying guest accommodation in Uttarahalli when the accident took place around 6.30 pm. Shivam, who had sustained severe head injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The police said that he was not only speeding but was also holding his helmet in his hand and suffered severe head injuries. The Kengeri traffic police registered a case and informed his family members.
In another accident, a 35-year-old cab driver died on the spot after the motorbike he was riding rammed into a parked truck on Nagavara Ring Road in Hebbal traffic police limits on Sunday night. The deceased, Santosh Kumar, was a resident of Whitefield and hailed from Hassan. He was working as a cab driver with a call centre in Kodigehalli. Around 11 pm, Santosh was returning home from office when the accident took place.
