Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police registered two cases, including against winner Pallavi Prashanth, in connection with the ruckus created by fans of the Bigg Boss reality show, after the winner’s name was announced on Sunday night.

A large number of fans gathered outside Annapurna studio, raising slogans and damaging vehicles that were leaving the venue, including that of the participants. Going on a rampage, they also damaged city buses, a police vehicle and private vehicles on the main road. Police had to use force to bring the situation under control and disperse the crowd.

Jubilee Hills station house officer P. Raveendra Prasad said a suo motu case has been registered against Prashanth and his followers, as he had taken out a rally despite being cautioned against it.

Another case was registered for the damage caused to six RTC buses and three private vehicles, he added.

Runner-up Amardeep Chowdary’s car was also damaged in the incident. He escaped unhurt.

Police said that as the time to announce the name of the winner was getting closer, hundreds of youngsters gathered outside Annapurna studio.

Immediately after the announcement, while Prashanth’s followers started their celebrations, Amardeep’s supporters raised slogans protesting the verdict.

This led to a clash between the two groups. Police started dispersing the crowd, who had, by then, caused considerable damage.
