Hyderabad: A suspect in a two-wheeler theft case tried to slit his throat in custody at Chilkalguda police station on Wednesday.

Police said, Y. Ramu, 30, was taken into custody from his residence in Seethaphalmandi, along with the stolen vehicle. “He took out a blade and inflicted a wound on his throat,” said Chilkalguda inspector K. Srinivasulu.

He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital, administered first aid, produced before the court and remanded.
