BENGALURU:  In a shocking incident, an elderly person identified as Muthappa (71) was dragged on road for a fair distance after he clinged on to a two-wheeler from behind and the old man was dragged for an estimated distance of about 1-km in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The elderly person was reportedly dragged from Magadi road Toll Gate to Hosahalli Metro Station before the two-wheeler rider stopped the vehicle.

It is said that a youth identified as Sahil on a two-wheeler collided with a car driven by Muthappa and when the car driver questioned the two-wheeler driver and the two-wheeler rider reportedly did not care for Muthappa and tried to flee.

An enraged Muthappa tried to catch hold of the two-wheeler and managed to cling onto the backside of the two-wheeler but the two-wheeler driven by Sahil took no note of the hanging Muthappa and drove his vehicle fast. Muthappa was dragged in a zig-zag manner by Sahil but the old person held onto the vehicle.

In the video clip which went viral, the two-wheeler rider noticed an elderly person hanging on to his two-wheeler but did not stop the vehicle and went on riding the vehicle.

Undergoing treatment at a hospital, Muthappa told media persons that the reason for him to cling onto the two-wheeler was the attitude of Sahil and stated “Sahil displayed arrogance and tried to push me.”

It is said that the elderly person escaped with minor injuries and doctors who treated him at a hospital in Vijayangar stated that scanning did not reveal major injuries to Muthappa even internally.

Govindraj Nagar police questioned Sahil over the dragging incident.
