Two held for twin murder near Bengaluru
BENGALURU: Police opened fire at two murder-accused Vinay and Trimurthy near railway cross near Doddaballapura town before they were taken into custody early on Sunday morning over their alleged involvement in the killing of two youths -Pratheek and Bharat at Doddabelavangala on Friday.
According to Bengaluru rural Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi, Vinay and Trimurthy were wanted in connection with the twin murder and police found them near the railway cross.
The duo reportedly attacked the policemen-Sunil Basagi and Kara Hussain with a matchette and pelted stones and in self-defense police opened fire and both of them were injured in the legs. The accused and the injured policemen have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
It is pertinent to note that a fight started over car parking at Doddabelavangala Government College ground on Friday between youths belonging to Doddabelavanagla and Hulikunte. It is said that Vinay and Trimurthy felt humiliated over the attack on them by youths belonging to Doddabelavangala.
Vinay and Trimurthy gathered their friends to fight against the youths who attacked them on the ground. In the fight that ensued near the Doddabelavangala bus station, Pratheek and Bharat were stabbed to death leading to tense atmosphere in Doddaballapura town on Saturday.
