Two pose as fake insurance agents, held

Hyderabad: Sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, busted a fake motor vehicle insurance racket and nabbed two fraudsters for cheating four-wheeler vehicle owners by posing as insurance policy agents.
The arrested were identified as Regalla Srikanth, 31, an automobile insurance policy agent and his brother-in-law, Thakur Karthik, 21, also an automobile insurance policy agent.
“The duo obtained the required information of the vehicle insurance customers through automobile sales show rooms and contacted them over phone by saying that the insurance policy of their vehicle was due for renewal, and approached them as authorised insurance agents of Tata AIG Insurance company. They showed fake ID cards of Tata AIG Insurance and collected money by issuing fake insurance proposal forms,” an official explained.
