Hyderabad: Five killed in three road accidents
Police detained the lorry and seized the vehicle.
Hyderabad: Two persons were killed in accidents at Petbasheerabad on Tuesday. In the first accident a 36-year-old private sector employee was killed and in the second one a 37-year-old housewife was killed. In another accident in Sangareddy district, three persons riding a bike died after being hit by a lorry.
Police said Vikram Reddy, a resident of Kompally, was heading towards Medchal on his scooter when a lorry hit his scooter. Vikram was flung in the air and suffered a serious head injury. He was rushed to a hospital where he died. Police detained the lorry and seized the vehicle.
In the other incident, V. Manjula a resident of Petbasheerabad, was killed. Police said she was crossing the road and was hit by an unidentified vehicle. She suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot. The driver sped away after the incident. Cases of accidental deaths were registered and the bodies were handed over to families after post-mortem.
In the Sangareddy accident, the victims are Pochaiah, 35, Balraj, 40, and Raju 38, hailing from Kamareddy district. On Tuesday evening, they were going towards Kamareddy after attending a funeral when a vehicle hit their bike killing them on the spot.
