Hyderabad: Actor Anukriti, who shot to fame for her role in the Ram Gopal Varma movie Sridevi, has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the director Yogesh alias Yogi of the short film Paapa, had harassed her sexually and threatened to kill her.

Anukriti stated that she quit when he demanded that she act in obscene scenes, which were not mentioned to her before the shooting of the film. Police registered a case.

According to Anukriti, director Yogesh roped her in for the lead role in his short film Paapa, scheduled for release on Youtube. But after the shooting started, he demanded that she act in vulgar scenes which were not in the script.

Declining to comply, she quit from the movie. “But Yogesh started harassing her sexually and threatened to kill her if she did not complete the shoot,” SI Guruswamy of Jubilee Hills police station, said. Yogesh has denied the allegations and said that Anukriti herself came up with the script and agreed to complete the movie.

“As she is planning to marry a senior Tollywood actor, he quit the movie and to cover that up, she is making false allegations,” Yogesh said. A case of sexual harassment, criminal intimidation and outraging the modesty of a woman was registered against Yogesh. Police are investigating.
