Hyderabad: Man asks friends to return money, murdered

Hyderabad: A businessman was killed by his friends when he asked them to repay Rs 6 lakh he gave them. The victim, Malik Maqdoom alias Khaled, 44, was taken to an isolated place in Attapur and killed on Tuesday night.
The Rajendranagar police suspect that the victim was chased and beaten to death. Khaled returned to the city from the UK to live with his family and started a water purifying plant at his house.
About six months ago, Khaled gave Rs 5 lakh to Dastagir alias Chotu of Bahadurpura. Dastagir, made Khaled give another Rs 1 lakh to one Khaja, who is from the same locality. About 15 days ago, Khaled asked Dastagir and Khaja to return the money.
Khaled’s body was found by passersby on Wednesday morning and police identified the body. Rajendranagar inspector G. Suresh said “Prima facie, it is found that Khaled had been killed for asking for money he had to get from his friends. Yesterday, they went out to have liquor together. The investigation is on to trace the suspects based on footage.”
