Uttar Pradesh: Rape probe as woman found on rail track

Lucknow: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped and thrown off a moving train in Mau district, it has been claimed.The victim’s right leg had to be amputated.
A Government Railway Police official, however, denied the rape and said that the woman had fallen off the running train and had lost her right leg in the mishap.
“We are looking into the matter and the guilty will not be spared,” GRP official Sudhir Singh said on Sunday. Local villagers first spotted the the woman, screaming in pain, near the Khazakhurd railway station under the Sarai Lakhansi police station limits on Sunday morning. She was lying in a state of undress.
The woman claimed she was going home to Shahganj, in the adjoining Jaunpur district by the Tamsa passenger train on Saturday night, when two men assaulted her and threw her off the train.
