Bihar man allegedly burns wife, 2 children to death

The man committed the murders following a quarrel with his wife and fled from the village.

Darbhanga: A man allegedly burnt his wife and two children to death following an altercation in Teksar village in Darbhanga district of Bihar, police said on Wednesday.

The man, identified as Mohammad Haroon, set afire his wife Rukhsana Khatun, 22, and their two children, Zishan, 4, and Ena, 1, on Tuesday night following a quarrel between him and his wife, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dilnawaz Ahmed said.

The woman and children died on the spot, he said, adding the bodies have been sent for post-mortem at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital.

The accused fled from the village after the incident, Ahmed said, adding a murder case has been registered against Haroon by his wife's mother.

Ahmed said a probe into the matter is going on.
