Kozhikode: Jolly arrested for murder of hubby 1st wife
The court will hear their bail petitions on Saturday when the police will seek the arrest of M.S. Mathew in connection with the murder of Sily.
KOZHIKODE: The police arrested Jolly, the alleged serial killer of Koodathai, in a second case on Friday.
She was found involved in the murder of Sily, wife of Shaju, her present husband, in 2016. Earlier, Jolly was arrested only for the murder of her former husband Roy Thomas in 2011.
The investigation team had sought the court’s permission to arrest Jolly in the second case and her arrest was registered at the district prison here. Jolly refused to comment on the serial killings when she was brought to the prison.
The three accused — Jolly, M.S. Mathew and Prajithkumar-- were earlier produced before the Thamarassery court as the custody period was over.
The court will hear their bail petitions on Saturday when the police will seek the arrest of M.S. Mathew in connection with the murder of Sily.
The three told the court that they had no complaints against the police. Though the lawyers of Jolly demanded a private meeting with Jolly, the police opposed it.
Meanwhile Rani, an intimate friend of Jolly, who was absconding, appeared before the investigation team at the Rural SP office at Vadakara, where her statement was recorded. The police believe that Rani can shed more light on the activities of Jolly on the NIT campus.
Though Rani had owned a tailor shop on the NIT premises, it is closed now. Both were seen together in many photographs even during this year’s ‘Ragam festival’ at NIT.
