3 Women HGs on CM's Bandobast Injured

Hyderabad: Three women Home Guards on duty at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's public meeting at Kolhapur in Nagarkurnool district were severely injured in a road accident near Nagarkurnool on Sunday evening when they were returning home to Mahbubnagar.

They had hitched a ride in the vehicle which overturned when it was crossing Desi Chityala village, police said. Two of the injured, Jayanti, 35 and Manjula, 35, were shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment, while Annapurna, 38, was shifted to Mahbubnagar.

Armed Reserve sub-inspector Shivaji and driver Tirupathi escaped unhurt as they were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, police said. Nagarkurnool sub-inspector P. Mahendar said they had registered a case and started an investigation.
