Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man, allegedly unable to bear the harassment of a cloth merchant, ended his life in Ghatkesar.

According to Ghatkesar police, the victim M. Gandhi took the extreme step in his house at Ghatkesar village in the early hours of Sunday.

For the past three weeks, Gandhi was asking the cloth store owner L. Lingam to produce approval from the authorities for constructing a complex adjacent to his (Gandhi’s) house, police said.

The victim learnt that Lingam was constructing the complex without permission from the authorities. Upset with the constant questioning, Lingam beat Gandhi badly near his site a couple of days back, police sources said.

Police shifted the victim's body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem and are going through the CCTV footage from the cameras installed in the lane. Police also collected videos from the locals, who recorded Lingam beating up Gandhi.
