Again! Numerologist held for cheating women in Bengaluru

A group of women filed a complaint on Sunday evening alleging Aaryavardhan had cheated them by taking money from them to teach numerology.

Bengaluru: Astrologer and numerologist Aaryavardhan, who was arrested and released on Saturday in connection with a molestation case, was again arrested by the Rajarajeshwari Nagar police on Sunday in connection with a cheating case.

Police said that a group of women filed a complaint on Sunday evening alleging that Aaryavardhan had cheated them by taking money from them to teach numerology. “As per their complaint, eight women were cheated as each of them had paid Rs 25,000 to the accused, to learn numerology. But the accused did not conduct any classes nor returned their money. He allegedly abused and threatened them when they approached him seeking refunding of the money,” the police said.

Based on the complaint, Aaryavardhan was again arrested in the evening. He will be produced before a magistrate on Monday morning. The numerologist was arrested on Friday in connection with a molestation case and was released on Saturday evening, following a magistrate granting him interim bail.
