Hyderabad: More than 36 hours after a vehicle knocked down a woman on the VIP stretch at Banjara Hills, the police has been unable to identify it. Defunct CC cameras near the accident spot have left the cops in the dark. However, police concluded that the accident happened at 6.04am.

Inquiries revealed that most of the cameras on the stretch from KBR Park junction till Nagarjuna Circle are defunct. Those in operations could also not give clear footage of the accident vehicle due to fog.

Initially four vehicles were suspected to have crossed the accident spot at the time of the incident, but police later concluded that there were two, including an RTC bus. A bike also had crossed the spot but could not have caused the accident going by the injuries suffered by the victim.

Two teams have been deployed to analyse the CC cameras on both sides of the road and trace the accident vehicle, police said.
