Youth Set Fire on Gram Panchayat Office for 2BHK House

Nizamabad: A youth frustrated over delay in handing over of double bedroom house by the government attempted to set fire to the sarpanch and the Siddrameshwara gram panchayat office in Bhiknoor mandal of Kamareddy district on Tuesday.

According to sources, Gandham Ranjith met sarpanch Janagama Srinivas and asked for the allotment of a 2BHK unit. The sarpanch told him that the allotment would be made soon.

At this, Ranjith who had brought petrol in bottles, poured it on sarpanch Srinivas into the gram panchayat office and set fire. The sarpanch escaped and ran to safety with the others in the office. Locals helped fight the fire till the police arrived. Srinivas lodged a complained with the Bhiknoor police alleging that Ranjith had threatened to eliminate him.
