Iraqi killed in road accident

Police said the mishap occurred when the Iraqi lost control of his bike.

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old Iraqi was killed and his friend suffered serious injuries in an accident in Habsiguda on Friday midnight. Police said the mishap occurred when the Iraqi Mohammed Haitham Abedi lost control of his bike and hit the staircase of a shop on the roadside.

Police said that Abedi was studying BPharm I year at a college in Turkayamjal. Haitham and his friend Salahadeen, also an Iraqi, and two others were staying in a rented flat at Ravindra Nagar in Ramanthapur. On Friday evening, Haitam and Salahadeen, went to meet his friends in Tarnaka. While returning at around 11.40 pm they met with the accident on the road Habsiguda to Ramanthapur.

“Haitham lost control of the bike due to high speed and hit the staircase of a shop by the roadside,” Osmania University police station SI N. Upender said. Haitham suffered a serious head injury and was declared brought dead at a hospital. Salahadeen who also suffered grave injuries is undergoing treatment at a hospital and is now out of danger. Based on a complaint from Salahadeen a case was registered.
