Driver lost control at curve as the car was speeding
Hyderabad: A cab driver and his nephew were killed in an accident in Nagarkurnool district on Thursday midnight. The mishap occurred when the car in which they were travelling rammed electric poles by the roadside and fell into a pit. The deceased are N. Ramakrishna and his nephew N. Mallesh.
Police said N. Ramakrishna, 28, hailing from Kalvakole village in Pedda Chintapalli mandal, was working as a cab driver in Hyderabad. Three days ago, he came home for a relative’s wedding in Chintalapalli village. After the marriage, he dropped his family home in his car and started his return trip to Hyderabad. As he was driving alone he picked up N. Mallesh, 20, to accompany him.
Around 12.30 midnight, while they were passing Ankiroapalle village, Ramakrishna lost control at a curve and instead of taking a left, drove the vehicle straight off the road. The car hit two electric poles by the roadside at high speeed and fell into a pit. On Friday morning villagers saw the vehicle and alerted the police. Police retrieved the vehicle from the five feet deep pit using cranes.
Ramakrishna and Mallesh suffered serious injuries on the head. The car was destroyed in the fall. An accident death was registered and the bodies were handed over to families after post-mortem.
Ramakrishna is survived by wife and two kids. Mallesh who had lost both parents in childhood was staying with an uncle.
