Though there were allegations that he had abused other students, none of them has complained to the police.
An investigating official stated that the police had not filed any petition before the court seeking Damodar’s custody, as they had sufficient time to investigate the case.
Responding to the allegations that Damodar had sexually harassed girls in the past, in the absence of his wife, they said no other student had come forward with any complaint or allegation.
“During investigation, Damodar did not reveal or admit to any such offences. However after school reopens, we will try to speak to other students and classmates of the victim, to verify if any of them were victims in the past. Based on the findings, a decision on the investigation will be taken.” he said.
On the day of the incident, the victim and another student were watching television in the house. Damodar had sent the other girl away, and sexually abused the victim.
After the victim went home for summer vacation, her mother noticed that she was sick. On inquiry, she found about the incident and lodged a complaint with Gachibowli police on May 2. Damodar had been on the run and was finally nabbed on Wednesday.
