Chennai: Chinese national shows fake air ticket, arrested
During interrogation, it came out that accused had entered the airport with a fake ticket to help his friend with her baggage.
Chennai: A 28-year-old Chinese man was arrested for entering the Chennai airport on Tuesday night by showing a forged air ticket.
The man identified as Khalil Chiu( 28) of China, allegedly presented a fake ticket to fool the CISF personnel and entered the enter the high-security airport premises to send off his friend to Hong Kong.
According to police, the duo arrived at the departure area of the Chennai international airport at 1. 50 am to board Thai Airways flight to Hong Kong. After his friend made it through the security check, Khalil moved to the departure lounge and requested the CISF personnel that he no longer wanted to fly to Hong Kong and wished to leave. This raised suspicion in the minds of the personnel, who later found out that the ticket was fake. He allegedly scanned her ticket and changed the whereabouts. During interrogation, he admitted to having forged an air ticket to enter the airport. His purpose was to assist the woman by carrying her baggage.
The CISF personnel handed him over to the airport police.
Police said Khalil Chiu is working in the purchasing department of a shoe manufacturing firm in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The woman retired from the company a few days ago and was leaving for Hong Kong and Chiu accompanied her to Chennai. He was arrested and further investigations are on.
