Kerala: More arrests soon in assault case, says AV George
The top cop exuded confidence even as Dileep's bail plea is set to be taken up by the High Court on Wednesday.
Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested Dileep for conspiracy in the actor abduction and sexual assault case on the basis of concrete evidence, enough to nail the superstar in a court of law, Ernakulam Rural Superintendent A. V. George said on Wednesday.
The top cop exuded confidence even as Dileep’s bail plea is set to be taken up by the High Court on Wednesday.
George made it clear that the investigation is progressing on the right track and that more persons would be arrested in the case in the coming days. However, he said the cops had no plan to question or take statements from any female actress.
Earlier, Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, while being produced before the Kakkanad Judicial Magistrate Court, told media persons that “more sharks” were yet to be arrested in the case.
Meanwhile, the revenue department has decided to resurvey the land where the theatre complex (D Cinemas) owned by Dileep is at Chalakudi on July 27. A notice has been sent by the Thrissur district Survey Superintendent to seven persons, including Dileep, in this connection. This move is a sequel to the district collector stating in a report to the revenue minister that the theatre complex was set up on encroached land.
Chacko to appear before police today
Advocate Pradeesh Chacko, former counsel of Pulsar Suni, told the Kerala High Court that he was willing to appear before the police for interrogation at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The court recorded the submission and disposed of his anticipatory bail plea. The prosecution took the stand that if there was enough evidence to constitute a non-bailable offence, the arrest will take place. Pulsar Suni had deposed before the police that he had handed over the phone used to record the sexual assault to his counsel Pradeesh Chacko.
