Vijayawada: Murder mystery solved, two held
Vijayawada city police have solved the mystery of an unknown body found in the agriculture fields in Poranki.
Vijayawada: Vijayawada city police have solved the mystery of an unknown body found in the agriculture fields in Poranki on July 12. Police identified the deceased as Kanchem Venkateswar Rao, a resident of Brahmanapalli village in Piduguralla mandal of Guntur district and that his own uncle had killed him due to personal grudge. Deputy commissioner of police Gajarao Bhupal presented the two accused involved in the murder before the media and said that Venkate-swara Rao, 30, who got addicted to gambling, had forced his father K. China Venkaiah to give him money by selling agricultural land. Out of anger, Venkateswara Rao on June 19 killed his own father and Guntur police had arrested and sent him to remand.
Venkateswara Rao’s mother Govindamma had moved to Vijayawada with the help of his brother Battula Srinu who was a resident of Poranki in Krishna district. Venkateswara Rao, who was recently released from jail on bail had started threatening his mother to sell the property which she refused and approached her brother Srinu. Battula Srinu and his brother-in-law Shouri had a heated argument with Venkateswara Rao on sale of property and he threatened to kill his own mother if she failed to sell the property. Srinu, who was worried of his sister, attacked Venkateswara Rao with a huge grinding tool and attacked him with a knife.
After confirming the death of Venkateswara Rao, both Srinu and Shouri had packed the body in a polythene bag and left it on the city outskirts. Police have arrested the two accused and produced them in the court.
