Court says no' to reopen Ayesha Meera case
With this, the SIT is now looking for legal opinion to approach the high court.
Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Metropolitan Sessions Court has rejected the SIT petition to reopen Ayesha Meera’s murder case. The fourth additional metropolitan judge rejected the petition as the permission to reopen is not in their limits. With this, the SIT is now looking for legal opinion to approach the high court.
On behalf of SIT, Andhra Pradesh Special Legal Adviser Sai Raghu submitted a petition recently seeking permission to re-investigate the Ayesha Mira case. Additional Chief Magistrate Indira Priyadarshini rejected the petition, saying that the case was handled by the High Court of Judicature in Hyderabad and that it does not come under the jurisdiction of her court.
The SIT will have to once again file the petition in the high court and seek its directives to start re-investigation into the case. Neither the SIT team nor City Police Commissioner commented on the court’s order.
