Bengaluru: A 14-year-old boy hanged himself at his residence in Rajagopalnagar after his parents forced him to go to school on Tuesday.

The deceased, Darshan, son of daily wager Raja, was studying in 7th standard at Siddaganga Matha in Tumakuru and had come home for the Ganesha festival.

Darshan refused to go back to school and wanted to stay at home. On Tuesday morning, he fought with his parents over the same issue. When his parents left for work, he hanged himself from the ceiling.

His parents, who returned home from work around 7 pm, found him hanging and informed the police.

The Rajagopalnagar police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem.
