Bengaluru: A 22-year-old daily wager was found strangled to death at a vacant site in Yelahanka New Town on Wednesday.
The deceased, Sagai Raj from Tamil Nadu and staying in Veerasagar, was working at an under construction site.
The police said the deceased, who was living in an Ashraya house, was strangled to death at an isolated site at Veerasagar in Yelahanka on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday night, Sagai left home telling his wife that he would bring some chaat items and go for a walk before returning home.
But when he did not come back home for a long time, the panicky wife and neighbours frantically searched for him, but could not trace him, the police said.
On Wednesday morning, passersby noticed the body in a bush and alerted the police. The police rushed to the spot and recovered the body before sending it for postmortem.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the assailants had strangled him to death using a rope and further investigations are on.
