BENGALURU: A former JD(S) worker assaulted a school head mistress by barging into her chamber in a private school allegedly for not paying the interest for the money she had borrowed last year.

The incident has taken place in Rajanakunte police station limits in Doddaballapur on Monday afternoon.

The accused, Ramakrishnappa, used to be a JD(S) worker and is now a realtor.
The CCTV footage shows Ramakrishnappa barging inside the room and abusing her, after which she requests and promises him to repay the money by next week.

He starts slapping her repeatedly and then removes a rope from his pocket and continues beating her. He also snatches her phone, when she tries to make a call.

Asha, a resident of Rajanakunte, and the head mistress of a private school said that she had borrowed Rs 70,000 at 10 per cent interest from Ramakrishnappa, to meet school expenses. She had paid the interest for eight months and returned Rs 50,000.

She was, however, finding it difficult managing the school as it was facing funds crunch. She couldn’t pay him the interest from past four months and had sought time.

For the past two weeks Ramakrishnappa had been calling and abusing her. He also threatened her that he would kidnap her if she failed to repay.

On Monday afternoon, he entered her chamber and physically assaulted her. She immediately filed a complaint in Rajanakunte police station.

Ramakrishnappa went absconding and the police summoned Janaradhan, a youth president for BJP Yuva morcha and Ramakrishnappa’s son to question about his whereabouts.

Many BJP workers from Yelahanka mistook that their leader was being arrested and gathered near the police station.

The Rajanakunte police have registered a case and are on lookout for the accused.
