Woman held for theft, booty recovered in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: A woman involved in thefts at Secunderabad railway station was arrested by the police on Tuesday. The accused, Noorjahan, 38, had earlier been arrested by the Railway police for a similar offence in May.
On Tuesday morning, a passenger boarding Tirupati-bound Krishna Express lost his purse. He immediately approached the police. Teams were alerted, one of which spotted Noorjahan walking about on the platform suspiciously. She was apprehended. On inquiry, she confessed to having stolen the purse from the passenger.
Police had recovered 25.5 tolas of gold worth over Rs 7 lakh from Noorjahan’s possession earlier.
The woman had only recently been released on bail before she committed the latest theft.
