Five held in case of murder of 6-member family
The accused were arrested at Gandhari cross roads on National Highway 44 in Kamareddy district on Tuesday
NIZAMABAD: The Kamareddy police arrested five persons including a woman on Tuesday in the sensational serial murder of a six-member family.
Police seized a car, gold ornaments and Rs 30,000 in cash from the accused.
The six persons including 8-year-old twins were killed within a span of 15 days at various places in Nizamabad, Kamareddy and Medak districts.
Police arrested prime accused Medidha Prashanth Yadav, 25, his mother Medidha Vaddamma, 60, of Makloor, and Guguloth Vishnu, 19, and Banoth Vamshi, 19, of Durganagar thanda in Makloor mandal.
They have also taken into custody Prashanth’s juvenile brother.
Speaking to the media in Kamareddy on Tuesday, SP Sindhu Sharma said Pune Prasad, his wife Shanvi alias Ramani, sisters Sravani, Swapna and Prasad’s 8-year-old twin children Chaitrik and Chaitrika were brutally murdered by the accused.
In an old case, Prasad had been arrested by Makloor police in October when he returned from Dubai.
Giving the details of the present case, police said that during Prasad’s stay in Dubai, he sent Rs 3.50 lakh to Prashanth Yadav as a hand loan. After returning home, he sought its repayment.
Meanwhile, in view of the old case, Prasad along with his family shifted from Makloor to Palvancha village in Machareddy mandal. Prasad tried to sell his house in Makloor, but in vain.
“Noticing all these, Prashanth Yadav hatched a plan and asked Prasad to mortgage the property in his name to get a loan to clear the debt and sell the property,” the SP said.
“Neither did he get the loan nor did he repay the debt amount. Prashanth Yadav thereafter killed all the six members from the family in different places.”
Pune Susheela, the lone survivor from the family, escaped from the clutches of Prashanth Yadav.
SP Sindhu Sharma said the police found the charred body of a woman near Bhoompally on Gandhari Road and investigated the case, resulting in the arrests.
The SP explained that Prashanth Yadav eyed the property worth '30 lakh that belonged to Prasad and eliminated 6 members of the family.
“We traced the details of the accused and nabbed them when they were on the way to Palvancha village to murder Susheela, mother of Prasad,” the SP explained.
The accused were arrested at Gandhari cross roads on National Highway 44 in Kamareddy district on Tuesday. They were proceeding to Palvancha village to pick up Pune Susheela, mother of deceased Prasad. “Susheela escaped from the clutches of Prashanth in Nizamabad on Saturday. The gang believed that Susheela might have reached her home,” police said.
“Deceased Prasad was arrested by Makloor police in October in relation to the suicide of a young woman in Makloor three years ago. Prasad allegedly cheated the woman by feigning love to her. Prasad was murdered at Madanapally village in Makloor mandal and his wife was strangled by the accused after which they threw her body in River Godavari at Basar."
"Prasad's twin children were also murdered and their bodies thrown in River Godavari at Soan Bridge near Pochampad. Prasad's sisters Shravani and Swapna were killed at Vadiyaram in Medak district and Bhoompally in Gandhari mandal of Kamareddy district," police explained.
