Tribal woman gives birth to still born baby on road in Guntur

Guntur: In a tragic incident a tribal woman delivered a dead infant baby boy on the road after being refused admission in the government hospital at Macharla in Guntur district on Saturday.
According to her relatives, J. Tirupatamma belonging to Gudipati Chervu village of Veldurthi Mandal of Guntur district, was brought to government hospital at Macharla for parturition but the staff refused admission and asked the family to take her back to the mandal center's government hospital.
The woman’s husband Bodaiah and their relatives claimed that her labour pains had started in the early hours on Saturday and hence they had brought her to the government hospital at Macharla at 8 am hoping to get good treatment. They stated that after seeing her health check-up records, the doctors and staff of the hospital declared that as the patient was being treated in the PHC at Sirigidipadu, she should be taken back to the same Centre.
The aggrieved relatives told the media that they had repeatedly tried to convince the doctors and staff that they had brought Ms. Tirupatamma to Macharla for good treatment but the medicos stood their ground and refused admission.
