Hyderabad: Horserider kills man on bike
Eyewitnesses said that the 17-year-old boy was riding the horse at high speed.
Hyderabad: A horse ridden by the son of a local TRS leader killed a motorbike rider and injured his friend in Mailardevpally on Sunday night.
Eyewitnesses said that the 17-year-old boy was riding the horse at high speed through the bylanes of Mahmood colony, entered the main road, and stomped on the bike, killing Hameed Khan Shah on the spot and severely injuring Khazam Khan.
“Seeing the horse, the bike stopped, but the horse reared up and the rider fell off its back. The horse then reared up and stomped on the bikers. The horse got up and ran away as also the rider,” the eyewitness said.
Khazam Khan is critical
Hameed Khan is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters. Hameed’s cousin, who was passing by, recognised Hameed’s bike and informed his family. By then, Hameed and Khazam were rushed to hospital. Hameed was declared brought dead; Khazam has sustained fractures on his shoulder and is critical. Police registered a case under sections 304-A and 337 against the teenager.
Police said the boy’s father, Farooq, had bought the horse three months ago to rent it out for marriages, and had allowed his son to ride it.
“We have registered a case against the boy. We are checking if he is a minor. We will see if his father can be named in the case for allowing his minor son to ride the horse,” said inspector P. Jagadeeshwar.
