Telangana: 100 kg of ganja seized, smuggling gang busted
The east zone task force arrested a four-member gang who was smuggling ganja.
Hyderabad: The east zone task force arrested a four-member gang who was smuggling ganja. The cops seized 100 kg ganja, four cellphones and a bike from them on Thursday. The arrested people are Shobha Mali, 32, Motiwale Naresh Singh, 35, Praveen Singh, 40, and Binesh Singh, 24. Police said Shobha Mali of Sholapur, married one Santhosh of Hyderabad 18 years back and settled in Kacheguda. She came into contact with one Mukesh Singh, a resident of Dhoolpet, who used to supply ganja. Shobha decided to join the business as her husband was not earning. Later, she came in contact with the ganja suppliers of Nalgonda district and started procuring huge quantities of the drug from them. She used to store them in her house and sell it to customers.
“As per the suggestion of a customer, Naresh from Dhoolpet, she took on rent a godown at Quthbiguda about two months back to store the ganja. She used to regularly supply ganja to Naresh Singh and others," said additional DCP N. Koti Reddy. Police said Shobha used to purchase ganja at Rs 3,000 a kg. The gang was sourcing the ganja from the agency areas of north coastal Andhra Pradesh through agents in Nalgonda district.
On Thursday morning while she was supplying ganja to Naresh and two of his associates, Praveen Singh and Binesh Singh, at her godown, police arrested the four. The arrested individuals and the seized property were handed over to the Kacheguda police.
