Telangana: Four killed in Vikarabad mishaps
Rashly driven lorry crushes autorickshaw carrying 5 people
Hyderabad: Four persons were killed and six persons were injured in accidents in Vikarabad district. The incidents occurred at Chevela on Saturday morning and at Bomraspet on Friday midnight.
Police said Ilyas and four of his friends hailing from Vikarabad were returning from Hyderabad after attending a cradle ceremony in Yakutpura. When they reached Mudimyala gate in their autorickshaw a speeding lorry coming from the opposite direction rammed their vehicle and crushed it. Mohizuddin, 26, and Jameel, 24, were killed on the spot.
“Autorickshaw driver Ilyas and their friends Kareem and Imran were injured and they were rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad. While Kareem and Imran are recovering Ilyas is critical,” Chevella SI N. Sridhar Reddy said.
Meanwhile, the police has launched a hunt to nab the lorry driver who fled leaving behind the vehicle.
In the second accident at Bomraspet a tractor was carrying electric poles from Bomraspet electrical sub-station to Kothur. When the vehicle reached the outskirts of Bomraspet village driver Raju was blinded by the headlights of a vehicle coming from the opposite direction and applied sudden brakes. As a result, the vehicle halted and the tipper overturned.
Mohan, 25, and Santosh, 18, both from Jeedigadda tanda, who were sitting on the poles got buried under them. Nandya Naik and Shankar suffered minor injuries.
Police registered a case of accidental death. Driver Raju is on the run.
