Man accused in over 50 house burglaries held in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Sleuths from Medipally and Malkajgiri police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man, who is accused in more than 50 house burglary cases in the state.
The accused, Rathlavath Shankar Naik, alias Rajesh Reddy, was arrested from Boduppal, said DCP Malkajgiri Zone D. Janaki. Police seized 8.2 tolas of gold and Rs 2 lakh in cash from him. The total value of the seized assets is Rs 8 lakh.
Other than Medipally, the accused had also committed burglaries in Keesera and Sanga Reddy.
Naik is a native of Mahbubnagar district. He belongs to an agricultural family. To continue his lavish lifestyle, he had committed these crimes since 2012, police said.
He was identified after the police went through more than 100 CCTV videos.
DCP Janaki also appreciated the efforts made by Rachakonda police to nab the accused.
