Hyderabad: Woman protests in front of lover's house
Both of them joined another company at Jaheerabad after a while and decided to get married.
Nellore: Mundlamuru S-I Siva Nancharaiah shifted a woman, who was protesting before her lover’s house at Kammavaripalem in Mundlamuru mandal of Prakasam district, to a home run by Women and Child Welfare Department at Ongole on Monday.
The woman, identified as B. Devakumari, belongs to Yadiki village in Morakamudi mandal of Vijayanagaram district. Devakumari and her colleague Gurram Venkateswarlu of Kammavaripalem fell in love while working at a call centre at Begumpet in Hyderabad in 2016.
Both of them joined another company at Jaheerabad after a while and decided to get married.
However, the situation changed after Venkateswarlu grew close to another woman working in the company.
Even as Devikumari pressurised him to marry her after noticing his intimacy with the other woman, he married the other woman. Devakumari rushed to Kammapalem after coming to know about this on Saturday evening.
She resorted to a protest before Venkateswarlu’s house on Sunday, demanding justice.
She made it clear that she would not leave the place until Venkateswarlu married her even after she came to know that he had married another woman at the Registrar’s office in Darsi the previous month.
In this backdrop, S-I Siva Nancharaiah produced Devikumari before Mahila Commission member Rama Devi on Monday.
The member assured justice to the victim and Devikumari was later shifted to a home in Ongole in the presence of her father.
Meanwhile, Venkateswarlu said his wife and Devikumari were friends and were living together in a room in Hyderabad. Stressing that she was aware about his marriage, he said
Devikumari was nursing a grudge against him because of some dispute with his wife.
