Teenage couple die near Bhakrapet in suicide pact

Tirupati: Two teenagers in love have died together by hanging themselves inside the forest area in Bhakrapet mandal of Tirupati district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as J. Yugandhar (17), a native of J. Kotha Indlu locality near Chowdepalli, and B. Kalyani (15), who belongs to Chittevaripalli near Ramasamudram.

Police said Yugandhar and Kalyani had fallen in love. The young lovers’ dream of a life together got shattered when their parents expressed strong disapproval of their relationship, including marriage.

The disapproval led them to take their extreme decision. The duo left their homes on Friday, August 18. They hanged themselves from a tree in the forest area near the check post along Tirupati-Bhakrapet road.

Locals who noticed the bodies informed police, who rushed to the spot. They shifted the bodies to Piler government hospital for autopsy.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
