Kerala: School principal held for sexually assaulting student

The principal has been remanded in judicial custody and sent to the Kannur Central Prison.

Kannur: The principal of a government-aided high school in Kannur has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student at a tuition centre being run by him, police said on Thursday. 

The incident took place on August 20.

KPV Sateesh Kumar (55) was arrested on Wednesday and a case has been registered against him under Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) on the basis of the girl's statement, police said.

He has been remanded in judicial custody and sent to the Kannur Central Prison, they said.
