Chennai: Two special teams were formed by Kancheepuram SP Santhosh Hadimani to investigate the case of a missing gypsy girl in Kanchipuram district.

Harini, daughter of Venkatesh, 28, and Kaliammal, 25, was kidnapped near Pavunjur village in Madhuranthagam in the wee hours of Sunday after her parents had returned after selling their ware at a temple festival. Her parents had been sleeping on either side of the girl but when they woke up, she was nowhere to be found, police sources said.

Following a complaint by the parents, Kancheepuram SP Santhosh Hadimani has appointed two special teams to probe the case. CCTV footages from nearby buildings were taken from Saturday night to early Sunday morning by the special team, who have been able to confirm that men on a two-wheeler may have kidnapped the girl.

They have also been accessing cell phone tower records for further information. The team has said that they would nab the kidnappers and hand over the girl in two to three days.
