Warangal: Student morphs girl’s photo, held

The accused picked up photos of the girl from her instagram account and morphed them with pornographic content.

Warangal: The cybercrime police on Wednesday arrested an engineering student after he threatened and blackmailed a girl with her morphed pictures lifted from social networking sites. The youth is identified as a native of Dharmaram village in Warangal Rural district.

According to a complaint lodged by the parents of the girl, the accused picked up photos of the girl from her instagram account and morphed them with pornographic content. Using fake accounts, the youth threatened her with the posting of her morphed photos. He threatened to send morphed photos of her to her relatives and friends if she failed to chat with him.

Recently, the accused posted the girl's morphed photos in her college group, following which, her parents lodged a complaint with the Mattewada police.

The case later assigned to the cybercrime wing by commissioner of police, V. Ravinder. The cybercrime police who investigated the case nabbed the accused and seized his mobile phone which was used for morphing.

The commissioner commended the cybercrime inspector Janardhan Reddy, Matwada inspector Ganesh and others involved in the investigation for swiftly arresting the accused.
