Wife, paramour main culprits in murder of husband

Mancherial: The Mancherial police arrested five accused in a fire conspiracy incident in which six persons were burnt alive in Gudipelli village of Mandamarri in Mancherial at night on December 16.

The wife is the main culprit in the murder and she did it with the help of her paramour, police investigations showed.

Ramagundam police commissioner Chandrasekhar said Sujana and Shanthiah were a married couple. Sujana developed illicit relations with Medi Laxman. At the same time, Shanthaiah was having illicit relations with Padma, the wife of Shivaiah.

Sujana hatched a plan to eliminate her husband over a dispute on the ownership of lands and properties. She  got a job with the help of her paramour, Laxman, six months ago. Laxman and Sujana engaged three other persons to execute their plan, police said.

The five accused first planned to kill Shanthaiah by hitting him with a vehicle, but failed. Shanthaiah was a Singareni coalfields employee.

Sujana hatched a plan to eliminate her husband Shanthaiah with the help of her lover Laxman. The accused had also planned to kill Shanthaiah and his lover Padma with knives but dropped the plan for fear that they might get caught, police said.

The accused were identified as Medi Lxaman, Shanigarapu Srujana, Sriramula Ramesh, Velpula Sammiah and Arnakonda Anjaiah of Mancherial district.

The deceased were Masu Shivaiah,48, Shanigaram Shanthaiah, 57 ( Singareni employee), Masu Rajyalaxmi,42, Gaddam Mounika, 24, Gaddam Prashanthu, 3, Gaddam Hima Bindu, 18 months, who all died in the fire.

Mancherial DCP Akhil Mahajan, Bellampalli ACP Mahesh and CI Pramodkumar were present at the press meet.
