Cop, two aides booked for threatening realtor over personal quarrel
Hyderabad: The Chikkadpally police on Thursday booked a police inspector and two others for allegedly abducting and threatening a realtor over ownership of a realty firm, the police said.
The accused cop was identified as D. Prasad, currently in vacancy reserve, who, along with two aides on Wednesday, is alleged to have forced the realtor into a car, abused him, threatened him with dire consequences for cheating them, and later dropped him at ECIL.
“Prasad, a 2009 batch officer, and his friends had planned to start a real estate company in partnership and wanted the realtor, E. Raju, to register the firm in his younger brother Shekar’s name, but the realtor cheated them by collecting huge amounts and getting the firm registered in his name,” Pramod Reddy, Chikkadpally ACP, said.
“Raju refused to return their money, was not available at his house in Chikkadpally, and stopped responding to Prasad’s calls for the past three months,” Reddy said.
On a complaint filed by Raju, the police booked Prasad and two others under IPC sections 359, 334, and 340, for abduction, illegal confinement, and causing hurt.
