Warangal: Thirty two-year-old youth, Puramshetti Narendar, was murdered by an unidentified gang in the premises of a defunct private educational institution near the Vijayanagar water tank, on the Police Training College Road in Karimnagar, on Wednesday.

According to police, Narendar was a resident of Santosh Nagar in Karimnagar city. He had returned to his native place after completing MS in Australia. The assailants slit his throat, police said.

“For the past few years, he was staying at his house in Santosh Nagar. He is survived by a child and wife, though they had deserted him over some family issues. Some liquor bottles were found at the site of the murder. Narendar might have consumed liquor with some known persons before the incident took place," police said.

Police shifted the body to the government main hospital for postmortem. A case was registered and a manhunt to nab the accused persons has been launched by closely watching the CCTV footage from the area, police said.
