Hyderabad techie suicide: Inhaling nitrogen raises issues
Senior physician Dr J. Anish Anand said many people from the IT sector suffer from depression.
Hyderabad: After the alleged ‘painless’ suicide of techie Lucky Gupta on Wednesday, doctors are worried that many others may follow this rarely heard of method. Police is working to find out how Gupta accessed nitrogen gas. It is believed he sourced it from a vendor in Balanagar.
Senior physician Dr J. Anish Anand said many people from the IT sector suffer from depression. He said nitrogen gas is not usually available to individuals and the source from where he purchased the gas should be probed.
“If steps are not initiated at this first incident itself, we may see many such incidents, with the widespread coverage of this report and the process involved,” Dr Anand said. “In his suicide note Gupta stated he brought the gas cylinder from Balanagar”, said SR Nagar sub-inspector .
