NIA: RSS man Rudresh's murder an act of terror
The broad daylight murder of an RSS member in uniform using a lethal weapon was the execution of a well planned conspiracy.
Bengaluru: The broad daylight murder of the RSS cadre - Rudresh R. on October 16, 2016 in Bengaluru was an “act of terrorism and was orchestrated to eliminate the kafirs (idol worshippers),” stated the chargesheet, which was submitted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday in a Special NIA Court in the City. Rudresh was brutally murdered on Kamaraj Road in Commercial Street police station limits in broad daylight, when he was returning from ‘Patha Sanchalan’ - an RSS function, which was held nearby.
“The accused had conspired to create mayhem in the City by killing two RSS workers in their uniforms in broad daylight in the heart of the City. They were indoctrinated for jehad,” said NIA sources.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the City police had arrested five accused in the case. The accused Irfan Pasha (A-1), (32), resident of Govindpura, Waseem Ahmed alias Wasim (A-2) (32), resident of Austin Town, Mohammad Sadiq alias Mohammad Mazar alias Mazar (A-3), (35), resident of Marappa Garden, Mohammed Mujeeb Ulla alias Mujeeb alias Maula (A-4), (46), resident of R T Nagar and Asim Sheriff (A-5) (40) resident of Benson Town were arrested under sections 302 (murder) r/w 34 (common intention), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 16 1(a), 18, 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to the charge sheet in RC-04/2016/NIA/HYD dated December 8, 2016 Rudresh murder case) the NIA has stated that the five accused are members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its affiliated political organization - the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and had planned to target two RSS workers in their uniform that day to strike terror among a section of people. “None of them had personal enmity with Rudresh. They killed him solely because of his leadership qualities and membership to a particular organization. The killing was a clear act of terrorism with the intention of instilling fear in the minds of people and was a step towards establishing the Islamic Caliphate in India by eliminating the kafirs.
The broad daylight murder of an RSS member in uniform using a lethal weapon was the execution of a well planned conspiracy, which was hatched near Aksa Masjid and Chota Charminar in the City. The killing of RSS workers would immediately strike terror in a section of people and prevent many of them from joining the organization. Investigation has disclosed that the accused were indoctrinated to believe that by killing a kafir they would be fulfilling the objective of jehad,” the charge sheet stated.
In December the case was handed over to the NIA under instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The NIA is on the lookout for others, who were part of the conspiracy.
