Hyderabad: Depressed after failing in all the five subjects, an Intermediate student committed suicide at Alwal on Friday. Sugumanchi Narsimha Rao, 17, hanged himself at home when his parents were away.

Police said Narsimha Rao, a resident of Alwal, was studying MEC at the Narayana Junior College in Alwal. He completed first year and in the results declared three days ago, he found that he had failed in all the five subjects. Since then, he was depressed.

Police found that Narsimha had stopped going out to meet friends and was not speaking properly with parents. “We tried to convince him that he can do better in the supplementary exams and thought that he would recover. We never thought that this would happen in our family,” Narsimha’s father Subbarao, a construction worker said.

On Friday morning Narsimha's mother went to Bhongir to meet a relative and his father went with her to the railway station. When he came back Narsimha was found hanging on his mother's sari at home. Police registered a suspicious death case and handed over the body to his family after post-mortem.
