Bengaluru: The murder case of a man, who had unknowingly invited a robber for a homosexual encounter and was later killed by him near SKR Market Complex on April 11, has been solved by the City Market police with the arrest of the accused on Saturday.

The police arrested Rasul alias Akash (23), a resident of Kanakapura taluk, who hails from Shivamogga. The accused is a habitual criminal and had come out of jail three months ago.

On the night of April 11, the deceased, B.N. Muralidhar, who was from Arkalgud taluk in Hassan district and a resident of Moodalapalya, was standing near the SKR Market Complex when he saw a man passing by. Muralidhar signalled the accused and expressed his desire to have sex with him.

The accused accepted the invitation and Muralidhar took him to an isolated place near the market complex. As the duo reached there, Rasul threatened Muralidhar to hand over the money. When Muralidhar resisted, the accused stabbed him to death and fled with Rs 350.
