Hyderabad: Man behind bars for kidnapping girl

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man working for Domino’s Pizza at LB Nagar was arrested by Chaitanyapuri police on Tuesday for allegedly sexually harassing a girl, kidnapping and marrying her. Chaitanyapuri police said that a complaint was received on May 17 from the father of a minor girl, stating that an unidentified person had called his daughter to the main road at Omni Hospital and kidnapped her. Two days later, she came home and told her parents that she was kidnapped by a U. Vinod Kumar, 24.
Chaitanyapuri sub-inspector B. Sai Prasad said that Vinod met the girl when she visited the Domino’s Pizza outlet located at LB Nagar in April 2018. Since then, he had been in contact with her. On the day the girl went missing, Vinod called her near the hospital and took her to Nalgonda where he married her. He also allegedly sexually harassed her there. A day after marrying her, he dropped her near Chintalkunta in LB Nagar, from where she went home and narrated the ordeal.
Based on a complaint from the girl’s father, Vinod was traced and arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
