Karnataka: Man stabbed in crowded bus stop, onlookers record incident

Hassan: A man was brutally beaten up and stabbed for allegedly staring at a young woman in a crowded street in Karnataka's Hassan district on Tuesday evening.

Several onlookers filmed the entire attack on their cellphones but nobody came forward to help the man apart from his friends.

According to an NDTV report, the man identified as Dhanush was allegedly staring at a young woman at a bus stop following which two men took offence and got into a spat with him.

As the situation seemed to get out of hand, Dhanush called his brother and two friends for help and a fight broke out between the two groups.

In the tussle, Dhanush's brother Sudeep was stabbed. However, people present at the bus stop nearby, chose to stand and watch.

"A case was registered yesterday and five of them have been booked and arrested," a senior police official was quoted as saying.
