Hyderabad Police Arrest Life Convict Released 8 Months Ago for Three Murders

Hyderabad: In a combined operation, Mailardevpally and Rajendranagar police on Thursday arrested Byagari Praveen, 32, a life convict who had been released, for three murders.

Praveen, pervously involved in three murders and 10 thefts, was convicted to life imprisonment and released eight months ago after serving his sentence.

Rajendranagar DCP R. Jagadishwar Reddy said that on the intervening night of June 20-21 Praveen murdered an unidentified person who was asleep on a footpath at Mailardevpally, and fled with cash from his pockets.

Twenty minutes later, at Durganagar crossroads, he murdered a blanket seller, Prakash, sleeping on the footpath and robbed the body.

Police formed three teams and nabbed Praveen from his house his house in Mailardevpally on Thursday evening, the DCP said.

During interrogation, Praveen said that on the intervening night of June 6-7, he had murdered an unidentified person who was sleeping near the railway tracks in Netajinagar, Mailardevpally and robbed the body.

Police said after his release, Praveen apart from the three murders had committed 12 thefts.
