Hyderabad: 3 techies held for using ganja

Police said Negi hailed from Mumbai while the others belonged to Telangana.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police nabbed five ganja users including three software professionals, a fashion designer and an engineering student in KPHB on Friday. Police seized 60 grams of ganja from the suspects. The suspects are Ektha Negi, 22, a network administrator with IBM, Mavva Nithin, 24, a software professional of Nivavis Soft Tech, Abilash Marupilla, 27, also a software professional, Gopi Sadhana, 25, a fashion designer and Devarju Uda, 25, an engineering student.

Police said Negi hailed from Mumbai while the others belonged to Telangana. They were staying at the Rain Tree Park in Malaysian Township and became friends there. KPHB inspector Kushalkar said the group started using ganja six months ago and used to buy from an unknown peddler. “They know the contact number of the peddler but never met him. Whenever they placed orders over phone he used to deliver it,” he said.
